Last weekend, Dwight Reece was installed as the new District Grand Master and Grand Superintendent for Jamaica & the Cayman Islands, with UGLE’s Pro Grand Master Peter Lowndes conducting the ceremony.

Alongside many other District Grand Masters and delegates, UGLE’s Grand Secretary Dr David Staples and Grand Director of Ceremonies Charles Hopkinson-Woolley were also present to participate at AC Hotel Kingston in St Andrew, Jamaica. After being installed, Dwight thanked his predecessor Walter Scott who served 10 years as District Grand Master.

Ahead of the Installation, the District also held their Caribbean Membership Conference which included the handover of a £5,000 donation from UGLE to the Jamaica Cancer Society.

In an interview with the Jamaica Observer, Peter Lowndes said: “Jamaica has always been important to us. It’s an extremely well-run district. We ask the districts what charities they favour so that we can add to the donations they are giving to make them even more worthwhile.”
