Promoting Freemasonry Through Sport

The MMSA was instituted by R. W. Bro. Norman Moore in the 1950s. Many have speculated that the idea came from various challenge sports matches at the time, including cricket matches with representatives from the then Royal Masonic Boy’s School Team.

The MMSA has been going from strength to strength in recent years with more sports being played than ever and a growing following of older and younger brethren alike.

Cricket

The section was restarted during the summer of 2007 and since then a yearly charity match has been arranged against Metropolitan Grand Lodge.

Football

The 5 A Side Football section of the MMSA was formally launched with the first official MMSA football match between Brethren from Edengate Lodge and Borough of Acton Lodge in October 2014. We now also have a regular walking football sessions to enable all our brethren to get involved.

Golf

The Golf Section is the second oldest section in the MMSA over the years many thousands of pounds have been raised for charities and good causes.

Bowls

Whether you are an experienced bowler or wish to know how to get into the sport, we want to hear from you. The Bowls section has recently been re-launched following on from their success in the Tercentenary Bowls competition where Middlesex came 1st & 3rd. The section has regular interprovincial matches and annual beginner's sessions (starting in May).

Fishing

The Angling Section of the Middlesex Masonic Sports Association comprises of a mix of experienced and new Anglers. We have access to some of the best courses in and around the Province.

Clay Pigeon

Our Monthly shoots at the A1 Shooting ground are open to Masons, non-Masons, their partners and youngsters. We do need to know the number of novices that will attend, so please contact us if you want to come along for the first time. SGC holders can join in at any time.
