Since the beginning of the lockdown and the onset of the coronavirus, regular masonic activities have been suspended.
However, with charity being one of the cornerstones of masonic values, the lockdown hasn’t stopped Middlesex masons being ‘masonic’.
Indeed under the leadership of the Pro Provincial Grand Master, Peter Baker, freemasons have been galvanised into a wide range of activities to help others.
Read below on some of the activities we have involved ourselves in, see the current progress, and fantastic sums of money and contributions Middlesex Masons are making to wider society in general.
Middlesex Covid Relief Appeal - Harrow District & Uxbridge Masonic Centres
In a major initiative, the kitchens at the Harrow District & Uxbridge Masonic Centres were re-opened during lockdown. With the help of some of the furloughed and volunteer staff, the centres have been preparing pre-packed nutritious meals, which are being delivered to the Salvation Army centres at Harlesden, Harrow and Hayes, to the Harrow Voluntary & Community Sector Forum, SUFRA – NW London and to Hillingdon Council for onward delivery to the beneficiaries they have identified as being in need of a daily hot meal. The Appeal has been a major success and now over 2,500 meals are being delivered a week.
