Behind the Scenes at Santa’s Grotto

Some of the volunteer present wrapping team at Uxbridge Centre

The members of Lodges and Chapters who meet at Uxbridge Masonic Centre can be rightly proud of their endeavours in providing relief to the hungry in association with other agencies including SAFRA and the Salvation Army (Harlesden).

Indeed, the volunteers will have been working on Christmas Day and, no doubt, continue into the New Year doing a remarkable job.

Not only has the dedicated team been involved in food distribution but has also assisted in Santa’s Grotto by wrapping more than 300 presents for local children.

Even some of ladies have joined in and helped in this mammoth task.

The Provincial Grand Charity Steward, W Bro John Briggs, paid tribute to the assistance provided over many months to him and Gary Collins by the following Brethren, and to the others not named, who have risen to the task:

Mark Evans of Middlesex Century Lodge, No. 5877; Clive Toms of Jersey Lodge, No. 2163 and his wife Ann Toms; Chris Hall of Little Britain Lodge, No. 8101; Scott Richardson of Lodge of Sincere Friendship, No. 8548; Peter Binstead of Ruislip St Martins Lodge, No. 9125; Dave Dabbs and Michael Morris of Tithe Farm Lodge, No. 7789; Fred Mistry of Middlesex West Chapter, No. 5770 and his wife and, of course, not forgetting Bridget Costello.
