Richmond Hill Lodge No 6698 held their regular meeting on Thursday 25th January 2024, which was to be their last meeting in the Lodge’s 75th Anniversary year. It was made special with a double Initiation ceremony for Christopher Britton and Piotr Tomaszewski and by the surprise visit from W. Bro Jim Mitchell PSGD – Provincial Deputy Grand Master, together with W. Bro Bob Rough PSGD – Assistant Provincial Grand Master and . Ian Ferguson – PAGStdB – Assistant Provincial Grand Master. They were accompanied by W. Bro Lloyd Bubb, Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies.
The Ceremony was carried out in a confident and sincere manner by the Master and his Officers augmented by the presentation of the Entered Apprentices Apron by W. Bro Ian Ferguson and also by the newest member of the Lodge, Brother Pratik Patel, who gave an excellent rendition of the Working Tools to the two candidates. He himself had only been initiated on the the 9th November. The two new Brethren were formally welcomed into freemasonry and into Richmond Hill Lodge in particular by the Deputy Provincial Grand Master.

W. Bro Stuart Lochtie giving the Address to the HaggisAfter the excellences of the Lodge Ceremony there followed one of the largest Burns Supper Festive Boards held by Richmond Hill Lodge in 22 years. Indeed the ocassion also marked the 22nd Anniversary of the Lodges first Burns Night. Some 80 new and old friends and members of the lodge were entertained and dined in a splendid atmosphere. The Haggis was piped in by W. Bro Mark Haynes and the Address was given by W. Bro Stuart Lochtie of Twickenham Lodge No 4278. There were 58 guests from 27 different Lodges who had signed the Attendance Register. The Lodge looks forward to January 2025 when this event can be repeated and no doubt there will be pleasant memories for those who attended.
