Middlesex Rag Man – Part 3

Jim Jams for Juniors –

Noah’s Rainbow for Heroes

W Bro Matt Erratt PPrSGD a member of Electron Lodge, No. 7527 and Prince Michael of Kent Lodge, No. 9120, gave an update on his lockdown work for Charity.

Readers may recall that W. Bro Matt, was without his regular contracted work when the current Covid 19 difficulties began.

His immediate thoughts were on taking part in charitable work where his involvement might make a difference.

This activity was reported in Middlesex Media – (See pglm.org.uk/scrubs-material-appeal and pglm.org.uk/scrubs-material-appeal-update ).

Subsequently Bro Matt took charge of all fabric, checking in scrubs and checking out material and has set up a tracking spreadsheet.

During May the Ascot Centre, where he is a volunteer, supplied 4,514 sets of scrubs to hospitals with the demand still growing.

Doctor’s Surgeries were another target and with the promise of 10,000 metres of fabric one that would be a tremendous achievement once realised.

Lately there has been an additional focus on how Scrubs Glorious Scrubs (SGS) is contributing to the supply of children’s wards in hospitals and hospices of much needed supplies, in this instance pyjamas for sick children.

This initiative is part of an ongoing involvement with SGS and Chris Evans, the radio celebrity, and his son Noah who is 10 years old.

Noah assisted in raising over £121,000 towards the Hospital Scrubs effort by his own personal effort.

Additionally Chris got involved, supporting his son’s achievements, by running an online auction on his radio show and raised a further incredible £1.217m to enable the purchase of all the material to make Hospital Ward Scrubs and “Jim Jams” for the children.

Now SGS are making these much appreciated pyjamas in a size range for children between 3 and 9 years old.

Each child will be able to wear his/her own unique choice of design.

Each set of pyjamas will show Noah’s Rainbow for Heroes.

Bro Matt has invited Middlesex Masons to nominate any hospitals or hospices in the Middlesex Provincial Area who might be pleased to receive supplies. In the first instance Matt may be contacted on:

scrubsgloriouscrubs@hotmail.com (messages should be marked for his attention).

Matt will ensure despatch as appropriate.

This is a wonderful gesture to sick children and the involvement of Middlesex Masons both in operational needs and the supply of materials is meritable.

Indeed, Bro Matt informs that he really gets a buzz out of the charitable work he is doing.
