Fresh from celebrating its 25th Anniversary at the June Convocation, W. Bro. Carlos Machado became the Chapter’s most recent Exaltee.
Carlos joined noted company in the form of the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent, E Comp Peter Baker, as well as the recently Appointed Second Provincial Grand Principal, E Comp John Eynon.
Both were in attendance at Cole Court, Twickenham on 2nd October, together with a guest of the MEZ – no less than the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent of Berkshire, E Comp Ian Hopgood.
Carlos is currently Worshipful Master of the Round Table Lodge of Middlesex, No. 8301.
He is from Brazil, and, therefore, English is not his first language.
Nonetheless, he has impressed the Brethren of the Round Table Lodge by the quality of his delivery and command of the sometimes challenging ritual text.
As a coffee wholesaler, his masonic learning is no doubt aided by copious quantities of his favourite beverage and no doubt his abilities will further be tested at the November Installation Meeting of the Lodge when he installs his successor into the Chair of King Solomon – who just happens to be the Pro Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Peter Baker, who will preside over the Lodge in its 50th year; certainly an auspicious start for Carlos’s career in the Holy Royal Arch.
