On Wednesday 5th June the Round Table Chapter of Middlesex, No.8301 marked the 25th Anniversary of the Consecration of the Chapter on 15th April 1994, with a very well attended Convocation held at Twickenham District Masonic Centre.
The Chapter is very proud and honoured to have one of it’s Founders as the current Most Excellent Grand Superintendent in and over the Province of Middlesex, E Comp Peter R A Baker, but also to have one of the Exaltees of the Chapter Appointed Second Provincial Grand Principal, E Comp John Eynon, who was recently honoured with Grand Chapter Rank of PGStB.
In total 62 Companions attended the Convocation, including, five Founders, Honorary Member and Consecrating DC Lt. Col. John Chambers, PAGSoj, PProvGDC; APGP E Comp Peter de Wolfe, PGStB; THE ProvGDC, E Comp Jim Mitchell, GStB, together with past APGP’s and VO’s of the Chapter.
Unfortunately, two of the Founder Members had recently Passed to the Grand Lodge Above, E Comp Joe Lecky, PPrGSN and E Comp Derek Maclannan, PPrAGDC, who had been the Chapters organist continuously from its Consecration. Both will be very much missed by the Companions.
The Charity Steward, E Comp Bill Hagon, PPrGSN was pleased to announce that the Chapter had achieved Vice Patron status in The 2020 Festival, which was marked by APGP, E Comp Peter de Wolfe, PGStB thanking the Chapter for it’s effort and presenting the Charity Steward with a Certificate and VSL bookmark to acknowledge the achievement.
The Chapter is now eligible to apply for a £200 donation to a Middlesex based charity of its choice.Following the closure of the Convocation, the Meeting was treated to an excellent and informative lecture by E Comp Mike Neville, PProvGStwd (Surrey), on his book “Sacred Secrets – Royal Arch Masonry, The Bible & Christian Faith”.
The MEZ, E Comp Mark Jorgensen, was delighted to be able to present a cheque for £250 to E Comp Mike for his nominated charity The Army Cadet Force Association.
The Alms collection and raffle at the Festive Board raised over £650 for the Chapter’s Relief Chest and The 2020 Festival through the use of the MGFF raffle tickets.
The main raffle prize was a pair of tickets to attend The 2020 Festival and 50th Anniversary dinner, which is to be held on Friday 27th March at Plaisterers’ Hall.
