Those of you with an e-mail address registered with the United Grand Lodge of England will have received an official communication containing an important announcement from The Most Worshipful The Grand Master, His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent, KG, that with effect from Tuesday 17th March 2020: –
“In view of the latest Government advice on the coronavirus pandemic, all Lodge and Chapter meetings within England and Wales are suspended for a period of four months with immediate effect.”
Further advice and guidance, regarding the effect of this suspension and the subsequent procedures to be adopted, will be issued to all Lodge Secretaries and Chapter Scribe Es in due course, as and when available but, in the meantime, please do NOT contact the Middlesex Provincial Office unless absolutely essential, in order that the Provincial Secretariat are not inundated with queries.
If you know of any members of your Lodge, or Chapter who do not have an e-mail address, please endeavour to pass on this message to them, where possible.
Please also keep in touch with the members of your Lodge, or Chapter by e-mail, telephone, or other means where no personal risk is involved, particularly those members who live on their own, or who feel it necessary to ‘self-isolate’ themselves, as it is imperative we ensure that everyone is kept safe and well.
Your Lodge, or Chapter Almoner should also be informed if you, or any of your family, may require assistance.
These are unprecedented times and I am sure that we all hope and pray that this situation will resolve itself, sooner rather than later but, in the meantime, I encourage you all to take special care to look after the health, safety and welfare of yourselves and your families in a responsible way.
