Middlesex Freemason appointed Grand Lodge Prestonian Lecturer for 2019

W Bro Michael Karn, PAGSwdB and Royal Arch Third Provincial Grand Principal of Middlesex is to be appointed Grand Lodge Prestonian Lecturer for 2019.

The title of his Lecture will be: “Freemasonry during the Great War – How Lodges reacted to the conflict” and he will be presenting it all over the country – and in particular Middlesex.

The prestigious Prestonian Lecture is the only lecture given under the authority of the United Grand Lodge of England.

William Preston (1742-1818), the foremost Masonic educator of his time, left a legacy to provide for an Annual Lectureship.

Many great and learned Freemasons have been given this high honour, with lectures recorded in the Grand Lodge of England Masonic Year Book.

W.Bro. Mike is well known in Middlesex and was Provincial Grand Orator, and also a member of the Grand Lodge Oration Scheme Committee.

He has produced many Masonic papers, books and talks – one of his most well-known is about Freemasons of the American Wild West.
