The Orangery was built to expand the ability of the home to assist those residents suffering with dementia.
The Association of Friends of PMKC were tasked with raising over £100,000 for this project just one year ago – and with the generosity of Masons from Middlesex, Hertfordshire and London, a sum in excess of this was raised.
The building project has allowed this prestigious RMBI care home to be able to comfortably accommodate an increasing number of residents with dementia.
So successful was the Association of Friends appeal for funds that they were also able to furnish and equip the project with state-of-the-art lighting, flooring, an exercise garden, sensory hi-tech equipment – and several “Fit-Bits” to monitor residents activity !
Two of the homes oldest residents, Vera and Doug, assisted in the opening ceremony, and joined in the Champagne celebrations.
Attendees were not only able to view the brand-new structure, but were able to enjoy guided tours of this award-winning care home. A great time was had by all.
The Association of Friends of PMKC are extremely proud of bringing this project to life and to have been able to celebrate a very successful fund-raising campaign.
