As is the case with many Lodges’ numbers are dwindling, Chapter and Mark are no different but for one Mark Lodge, No. 1316, the Phoenix has Landed.

The golfing enthusiasts have found a new home and, on the 29th January 2020, there was a new beginning, there was an Installation of a New Master and all its Officers.

With R. W. Bro. Edward R Garty ProvGM will re-open the Lodge.

If your hobby is golf, regardless of handicap come along and join us.

The first meeting was a resounding success with around 50 attending mixture of 4 or 5 Members of the Lodge and the executive team R. W. Bro. Edward R Garty ProvGM; V. W. Bro. David C White PGJO DepPGM; V. W. Bro. Steven M Vanhinsbergh PGJO APGM; W. Bro. Peter J Hyde APAGDC APGM and W. Bro. John Billett PGJD ProvGDC also the provincial team.

W. Bro. Graham Dossett was invested as the new Worshipful Master by R. W. Bro. Edward R Garty ProvGM and all the other officers were invested into the various positions.

The festival board was a typical Mark Masons festival board full of banter and camaraderie.

Golf Match

Four meetings a year – one at Uxbridge and the rest at a golf course.

The second meeting we kick-off or should I say “tee off” at Coombe Wood Golf Club on the Thursday 16th April 2020 at George Road, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey KT2 7NS. (George Rd) That must be a good omen !

The first golf match will be a series one, so golf clubs at dawn !

• Meet in Club lounge at 9:00 / 9:30am for a bacon roll.
• Play 18 holes starting time 1st tee at 10:00am
o inc. The straightest Drive
o inc. The longest drive
o inc. A Par 3 nearest to the pin
• and then back for lunch all for £45.00 . . .

Trophy

There will be trophy’s to be disclosed on the day, regardless of your handicap come and join us, remember golf spoils a good walk, and see how far you can hit a ball and then see if you can find it.

All will be paired off by handicap so come and join us and have a day full of fun laughter and tears
