This was given by the Master and Officers of the Lodge of Harmony No. 7127 (Bristol) and by kind permission of the Provincial Grand Master for Bristol the Right Worshipful Brother J.M.W. Davis and with the consent of the Provincial Grand Master for Middlesex, Right Worshipful Brother HRH Prince Michael of Kent GCVO.
Round Table Lodge was honoured by an Official Visit by V W Bro Barry Cramer PGSwdB, Deputy Provincial Grand Master, who was accompanied by W Bro John M. Taylor PSGD, Assistant Provincial Grand Master, W Bro Jim Mitchell PAGDC, Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Ian Ferguson, Past Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Alan Smith, Provincial Grand Superintendent of Works, W Bro George Fraser, Provincial Senior Grand Deacon, W Bro Anthony Muirhead, Provincial Grand Steward and W Bro David Harvey, Provincial Grand Steward. The Lodge was also honoured by the presence of R W Bro. David Cons, Past Pro Provincial Grand Master.
W Bro Barry Cramer was offered the gavel by the WM, which he accepted, and commented that it was probably the only time he would be offered the gavel by the Pro Provincial Grand Master and wasn’t going to miss the opportunity of taking it.
He then reminded the Brethren of the various notable events which had taken place in 1969, the year the Lodge was Consecrated, including the Apollo 11 moon landing on 20th July of that year.
CHARITY ABOUNDS –
The Lodge Charity Steward, W Bro Nick Reay, Proposed that the Lodge donate the balance of the Relief Chest to The 2020 Festival, which would result in the Lodge achieving Patron status having donated a total of £27,300 to the Festival.
He also proposed that the resulting £200 voucher from the Middlesex Province Relief Fund (MPRF) be donated to the Association of Friends of Prince Michael of Kent Court in support of one of their events during the year.
W. Bro Nick further proposed that £100 be donated to Prostate Cancer UK in recognition of the set of oak and silver tipped wands the Lodge had acquired from the recently closed Haven Lodge, No. 2022, which a number of the Members of the Lodge had been Members of. All propositions were duly confirmed.
He also reported on his recent presentation of a cheque for £1,000 to the Michael Sobell Hospice.
The Alms Collection and raffle at the Festive Board raised a magnificent £1,099 in total.
94 Brethren dined afterwards at the Festive Board where the WM thanked the members of Lodge of Harmony for their work in the Temple and a cheque was presented for £250 to them for their Lodge Charity Account.
A toast was also given to two of the Founder Members of the Lodge who were present; W Bro Ian Montague and Bro Stephen Braham.
