The first regular meeting of the new Masonic year was held on Wednesday 2nd September.
Due to the current situation the agenda was relatively short and the meeting started an hour later.
Being one of the first Lodges to meet, it was probably a little eerie but with guidance from Province and the Centre, the Lodge held a Zoom meeting the night before to go through procedures for the Meeting.
14 Members attended, including the Tyler, and all present were “well-spaced” out in the Prince Michael of Kent Temple.
Face coverings were “de rigeur”, as was the non-wearing of Collars and gloves.
There were no perambulations, and definitely no singing.
All in all, the whole Meeting lasted 30 minutes.
Not ideal, but at least the Meeting was held and it was a step in the right direction.
This will give Lodges and Chapters encouragement and a hope that normal Masonic service can be resumed without too much trauma.
With no Festive Board, all the Brethren were home for their “tea” and no doubt managed to watch “EastEnders”.
The staff of HDMC are congratulated by the Lodge Secretary W. Bro Paul Lowery.
They had prepared well with a signing in station, one way route and socially distanced seating in the Temple.
Sanitizing stations were dotted about the route.
The Brethren of Circle of Friendship Lodge will meet again in November and hope that restrictions may be lifted and a more of a normal Lodge meeting might take place.
