Canoeing for Kids: Ed Mac Sweeney’s 134 mile epic journey

Edmond Mac Sweeney, a member of Isleworth Lodge, No. 5193, will be canoeing 134 Miles along the Thames over 6 days to raise money for the 2020 Festival in aid of Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.

He departs Lechlade on 21st May and arrives at Teddington Lock on 26th May, will camp every night, and average 25 miles per day for the first five days, leaving 9 miles for the last day. He’ll take pictures and share his journey as he progresses – which we will share in the Province’s channels.

Ed started canoeing at school where he would attend adventure centres and continued for around 5 years with school friends. They would canoe on lakes and local rivers until he moved to London in 1988. 30 years later he has been inspired to get back in a canoe and push the boat out!

Edmond’s target is to raise £1,000 for the RMTGB – please support him here https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/edmond-mac-sweeney
