The Lodge in deciding where to allocate the £400 Charitable spending within the Province, elected to donate it to the Hampton on Thames Community Association (HoTCA).
This Charity was ably supported by the late Bro Rod Dunwell, a member of the Lodge, whose widow is still actively engaged in its activities thus ensuring his legacy lingers on.
Many older members of the Lodge recall with affection Brother Rod and the Charity to which he was committed and had no hesitation in channelling this financial resource to HoTCA.
The Lodge Treasurer and Charity Steward, W. Bro John Murray PPrAGStdB presented the cheque on July 21st to Hazel Greasby one of the Trustees of the Charity alongside her colleagues from the Charity.
The Hampton on Thames Community Association (HOTCA) is a self-supporting charity, working alongside YMCA St Paul’s Group at YMCA White House in Hampton.
The activities provided by the different sections of HoTCA include the Model Railway Group, a wide range of musical groups and bands, social or sports activities like table tennis, indoor bowls and bridge.
Other sections also arrange regular events which showcase the individual groups and help to raise funds for the centre.
The various sections of HoTCA welcome new members, and an annual membership is required for regular attendance to any of these sections.
