50 Years for Jim Johnston

W. Bro. Samuel James Johnston, known to most as Jim, celebrated 50 years in the Craft and was presented with his 50^th Anniversary Certificate and lapel pin by W. Bro. Nigel Codron PAGDC, AProvGM at Elliot Lodge, No. 1567 on Saturday 7 October.

Jim was Initiated into Elliot Lodge on 6 May 1967, Passed in October ’67, Raised in March ’68 and Installed as WM in November 1987 ( it did take 20 years to get there back then ! ).

He is also a member of Middlesex Masters Lodge, No. 3420, Norman Moore Lodge, No. 7976 and Quadratic Lodge, No. 1691.

He was appointed to ProvGStB in 1994, promoted to ProvDepGDC in 2001 and then appointed as ProvDepGDC in the Royal Arch in 2003.

He also received Grand Rank appointments of PAGDC in 2006 & PGStB (RA) in 2008.

Jim was also surprised by a very special presentation about his personal and professional life by his friend and fellow member of the Lodge, W. Bro. Phil Lowe, to mark this special occasion.

It was a rather unique day for the escorting ProvDepGDC, W. Bro. Chris Parfitt-Taylor, who had to contend with 4 past Deputies in attendance; he did very well !

The Lodge were treated to a very interesting presentation by W. Bro. Mike Kearsley ProvGOrat on “Masonic Milestones”.
