General Date Protection Regulations (GDPR)

There has been an awful lot of questions, comments and conjecture about how the new GDPR applies to a Masonic Lodge.

Attached is a document giving some guidance on how Data Protection under the new GDPR might apply to us, as a fraternity, and what steps we should take to comply or to protect the data we hold on our members.

The second document attached is a template DP Privacy Notice that Lodges can use if they wish.

Please note that you DO NOT need to obtain consent from members to hold and use their data; however, you do have a duty to protect the data you have and you will find details in the guidance to assist in this.

This message and attached contents does not constitute legal advice.
