Cancellation of the Annual Service of Thanksgiving
It is still hoped to hold this event, albeit on a slightly different basis, at Plaisterers’ Hall next Spring on Friday 26th March 2021.
Those of you who have made bookings for this dinner will be contacted shortly by a member of the Festival Committee to advise you of your options regarding a refund or whether you may wish to hold over your booking until next Spring’s event.
I also must announce that it has been necessary to cancel this year’s Annual Service of Thanksgiving, which was due to be held at the Cathedral and Abbey Church of St Alban on Sunday 25th October 2020.
The reason for this is that, under the current HM Government guidance and restrictions, the Cathedral can only accommodate a maximum of 190 attendees, with no Choir, singing or other music, which make this a rather muted event.
We are planning for this Service to be held next year in the Cathedral Church of the Holy Spirit at Guildford on the last Sunday in October 2021, subject to confirmation of the date.
I am sure that, like myself and the other members of the Craft and Royal Arch Executive Committees, you will be most disappointed by this further postponement of the celebratory Dinner and cancellation of the Service, for reasons which are beyond our control.
Finally, please ensure that you, your families and loved ones continue to stay safe and well and I hope that we will be able to return to some normality in our Masonic activities before too long.
