Companions of Round Table Chapter of Middlesex, No. 8301 and visitors

At the Convocation held on Wednesday 1st June, Round Table Chapter of Middlesex, No. 8301, the Companions were pleased to welcome two new members.

Firstly, as a Joining Member, E Comp Gordon P Richardson PPrAGSoj, who had been Janitor of the Chapter since June 1st 2005 and a former member of Dalhousie Chapter No. 865.

Gordon had been looking for another Chapter meeting at Cole Court.

The Chapter are fortunate to have secured Gordon’s membership against stiff competition from others.

This was no doubt duly influenced by his Proposer being the Most Excellent Grand Superintendent and his Seconder the DepGSupt, who both happen to be Members of Round Table Chapter of Middlesex.

Secondly, as an Exaltee, the Chapter were delighted to welcome Brother Fredrik “Fred” Karlsson, after an eighteen month delay, thanks to the cessation of Masonic activates due to Covid.

Fred, who is from Sweden, had initially made an enquiry about joining the Royal Arch via the website back in October 2020, following his move to Twickenham.

He had been Initiated into Royal Sussex Lodge, No. 53, Bath in January 2010.

During the intervening period Fred attended a couple of Round Table Lodge Meetings in order to get to know the members, as the majority are also members of the Chapter.

Both Fred and Gordon were presented with Round Table Masonic ties, which have been approved to wear by UGLE at all Round Table Lodge and Chapter Meetings in the UK.

Round Table Away Days –

The much postponed Round Table Biennial Meeting held this last weekend was hosted by North Staffordshire Round Table Lodge No. 8355 in Stoke on Trent.

Round Table Lodges from across the UK met up to enjoy a formal meeting on the Friday, tours on the Saturday, followed by a Ladies Festival in the evening, before heading home on the Sunday.

The event was originally scheduled to have taken place in 2020.

Every Province has at least one Round Table associated Lodge and some have more than one, resulting in some 42 Lodges being considered as Round Table Lodges.

There is a tradition of visiting continued throughout the year to neighbouring Round Table Lodges for Installation Meetings.
