Getting back on track

The Craft Stewards for 2021-22 being put through their paces

On Thursday July 8th the newly re-appointed Provincial Grand Stewards had the opportunity to meet the new Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, W Bro Chris Parfitt-Taylor and members of his team of Deputies at TDMC.

The majority of the Stewards, who had been appointed last year hadn’t had a single active duty due to the restrictions imposed by Covid.

The evening presented a chance to dust off the cobwebs, meet up again, refamiliarise themselves and prepare for the masonic season ahead.

Support, guidance and valuable advice was given by the experienced team of Deputies, as well as the Secretary and Stewards coordinator from Prince Michael of Kent Lodge.

Likewise the Royal Arch Stewards for 2021-22

Middlesex Provincial Grand Stewards have always been proud of their reputation for being sharp, accurate and efficient at their ceremonies, amiable in their manner and courteous in conduct being ambassadors of the Province when out on duty.

W Bro Chris in his new role, complete with handlebar moustache and distinctive voice, no doubt relished the chance to remind the Stewards of the high standard expected of them.

Precision in movement might be expected to be a core attribute, especially as Chris is currently a Warrant Officer in the 1st Battalion Irish Guard and also a Master Tailor in the Regiment.

The evening was a welcome refresher for both teachers and students, who had missed much time in the Temple and augurs well for the ensuing year.

Freemasonry is coming back and not a moment too soon !
