Gerry Inow from Jubilee Lodge, No 8822 took the plunge in April to swim the 33.3 Km width of the English Channel in aid of The Middlesex 2020 Festival – raising money for the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.
The twist is that it was done in the local swimming pool so that he would not be interrupted by big waves, or worse the sporadic passing of ships.
The target was 1,332 lengths in 3 months was in fact completed in 63 days.
Gerry would like to say a big thank you for all those that have donated on the website and encourage other brethren to keep fit with a tangible target.

From 4th April:-
Gerry Inow from Jubilee Lodge, No 8822 has decided to take the plunge and swim the 33.3 Km width of the English Channel in aid of the Middlesex 2020 Festival – raising money for the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys.
As a competent swimmer and keen Mason it was logical to combine the two passions to undertake this challenge.
But there's a twist ! Bro Gerry, being one to enjoy life's comforts, and avoid the hideous cold of the sea, will take his time and complete the 1,332 lengths over a 3 month period in his local swimming pool ! Perhaps making this most comfortable and longest ever channel swim ?
He has set himself a fund raising target of at least £2,020, and is looking for donations of at least £2.02 or perhaps a little more - maybe £20.20!! Whatever is given will be gratefully received.
